In the Moment

Don't over think things.

This week's relationship 101?  Don't assume, jump to conclusions, infer, or obsess, just stay cool, keep a level head.  Simple as that.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Justified

So it's kind of too chilly now to dress like this but I'm not sure what kind of top I can wear with this hi-low skirt, so I just kind of suck it up and suffer a little.  Oh and let me tell you where I got this skirt! My American readers are probably not going to be shocked by this, but I got this skirt from Walmart!  Normally, our Canadian Walmarts have plain, borderline boring clothes but when I saw this skirt... I swooned.

Now in other great news, I've got a new job!  So, I'm gonna need to learn how to juggle two jobs and posting and until I can get the right balance, please bare with me. But at least now I can justify all of the purchases I've been making lately.  Everytime I have a day off, I've been going shopping and I never ever leave the mall empty handed. My friends said they're gonna hold an intervention for me if this continues, but I think the new job justifies all the splurging.

Time Traveller

Take a vacation together.

Ok, so maybe you can't time travel, but you can take a trip together, whether you're travelling across the world, going somewhere exotic, or taking a stay-ca-tion, vacation can do wonders for your relationship.

I think it's safe to say that most people take vacations so that they can relax, this is the perfect atmosphere for your relationship.  Just carefree and no stress; it lets you and your significant other just enjoy each other's company.

Explore a new location can bring the two of you closer together and give you new experiences to try together as a team.  Just remember to stay calm, that means no bickering over directions.

If you're like my boyfriend and me, a vacation is an opportunity to spend more time with each other and get to know each other better.  My boyfriend and I usually see each other once a week, which isn't much quality time.  So taking a vacay and actually setting aside the time to be with each other helps to bring us closer together.

What do you guys think?  Do you feel closer to your partner after a vacation?

New Do

Hi there, remember me? Sorry for my inconsistency lately, but don't worry, I'm still here!  Just super busy, cutting my hair and all.  Whats that? You don't think there's much of a difference? Tell that to the pile of hair that was under the barber's chair.

Give a Little

I finally give in, time to whip out the fall wardrobe.  I reorganized my closet, and packed away the summer staples.  This week I learned that I have way too much clothes and not enough space.  I also learned that I have a lot of clothes that I don't wear but I'm too afraid to give away in fear that I'll miss it once it's gone.

Do you have clothes that you haven't worn in years but can't bring yourself to donate it?  Am I the only one? Because I've got a dresser full of clothes that I barely wear and I already donated a huge bag of clothes this week.

Take a Bite

Sorry for skipping relationships 101 yesterday, I was out all day so I didn't get a chance to blog.  *Side note: How do bloggers find the time to write everyday? I can barely find the time a few nights a week!*

Anyway, here's some pics of a yummy meal I made a few nights ago, chicken enchiladas.  I am in LOVE with my slow cooker.  Thanks to pintrest, I found a bunch of easy recipes for the slow cooker, I just throw everything in the pot before work and I have a yummy meal to come home to.  Genius!  Though I should have taken a pic of the stuff inside the slow cooker so you can actually see the chicken.  But trust me, it's so good!

Here's what you need:
  • 3 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 jar (16 oz.) salsa
  • 1 can corn, drained
  • 1 can black beans, drained
  • 1 med. onion, diced
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • Flour tortillas
  • Shredded cheese
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Sour cream
Throw it all in the crock pot for at least 6 hours, shred the chicken and serve however you like!  Here's where I got the recipe from: http://www.kraftrecipes.com/community/recipe-exchange/UserRecipeDisplay.aspx?group_id=1&user_recipe_id=399111

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Timing is Everything

These pictures are old... but I haven't posted them yet, so here they are.  They're from my vacation earlier in the summer and I've neglected them until now.  Makes me want summer back.  I've been working so much these days, a vacation sounds like heaven.

Oh and another reason why I posted these pics today?  Because I can't take outfit photos today, my feet hurt. So. Much.  IT hurts to walk, to stand, to lie here on my bed while I write this post.  (I know, I whine a lot, my boyfriend tells me so.)

Feel it in my Bones

Transitional weather.. I hate how difficult it is to get dressed in the morning.  When you leave the house it's warm and sunny but if you get home late at night, it's chilly.  This is my compromise.  During the day, I sweat a little in the cardigan but at night my legs get a little cold.  You never win.  This is the price you pay for the sake of fashion.
